Learning Object

Learning & Inter-Professional Environments

Introduction

“We all know individuals who manage to learn with little or no contribution from the organization. It is, however, impossible to conceive of a learning organization, however defined, which exists without individual learners. The learning organization depends absolutely on the skills, approaches and commitment of individuals to their own learning” (p.78)

Mumford, A. Individual & organization learning: the pursuit of change, in Managing Learning 1994 eds Mabey, C. & Iles, P. the Open University)

Therefore, the learning facilitator, in encouraging individual, group and/or team learning is central to the development of a learning organization.
