Welcome to the PLQ online resource

This website includes Learning Objects designed primarily to support the learning of students or candidates undertaking the Practice Learning Qualification (PLQ) or the Practice Learning Qualification (Social Services) (PLQ(SS)), though they can also be used by anyone wishing to increase their understanding of learning in the workplace.

The Learning Objects feature resources such as video and audio case studies , interactive activities, glossaries and links to further information. The subjects covered by the Learning Objects have been chosen to supplement the range of teaching and learning resources currently available and are not intended to replace other resources that students may access elsewhere. Within each Learning Object you can find material to suit a range of levels of learning, from SCQF level 7 to 11. Some Learning Objects have more text based material and others consist of activities designed to help you think about the subject under discussion. They can be used flexibly, for individual study or as part of a wider programme.

How to use this website

Select a Learning Object from the dropdown menu above. Click on the title. You will be taken to the introduction page for that subject area. Use the left hand navigation tool to explore and navigate the topic. You can also click on highlighted text to navigate around the Learning Object, to view a reference or a glossary definition, or to go to another relevant website. To view another Learning Object select and click from the drop down menu at the top of the page.
